Claude can't see your web pages.
It's Google's fault.
(sort of)

For the past few weeks, I have been running technical audits to learn why OpenAI and Perplexity can see my web pages but Claude cannot.

TL:DR Claude runs some of their web searches through a Google cloud account and so there is an entire second list of IP addresses that must be white listed by your hosting provider in order for Claude to see them.

This was a total head smack for me.
Crikey.

My hosting provider was extremely confused by the situation but (after two weeks) they finally fixed it. I had assumed that they would know more about this than I do, and their confusion surprised me. I’m consulting with them for a few weeks to help them get this sorted for everyone who hosts websites with them.

POWER
🔮 How does your marketing plan score?

Still using a crystal ball to determine marketing readiness?

After 25 years in marketing, I don't believe in a perfect marketing plan.

Scoring a plan at 100% means (to me) that it's the strongest plan available given current resources.

That's the goal. True perfection doesn't exist. We strive to do the best we can with what we've got.

I used to charge $5,000 to review someone's marketing plan, upgrade it, and break it into bite-sized chunks that can be finished each week. It takes me days to rework plans and so the fee was fair but I was frustrated that I became the source of the delay.

So I don't offer that service anymore.
Now, you can score your marketing readiness and receive the upgraded plan in less than five minutes.
For free.

Takeaway: Treat email like a product: clear promise, consistent cadence, single CTA per send.

:Neat Finds This Week:

  • Idea: Personalization as a growth strategy.

  • Watch: Color theory can enhance your brand appeal.

  • Meh: Can you trust Meta’s Muse or OpenAI’s Dots to run your life?

:You are overthinking:

Do the thing that terrifies you. Fail at it. Chuckle over it later with a friend. Otherwise, what will you have to talk about?
